FUMCmap.JPG (245421 bytes)"Where are you located and how to I get there?"

We are located in Fulton, Kentucky in western Kentucky on the border with South Fulton, Tennessee.  Major highways are Kentucky Purchase Parkway, Highways 51 and 45.  Future Interstate I-69 will be completed in several years.  We are approximately 120 miles north/northeast of Memphis, TN (Hwy 51), and 50 miles south/southwest of Paducah, KY (Hwy 45/Purchase Parkway).  The church complex address is 200 Carr Street, Fulton, KY 42041.  Click on the map to the right and enlarge for easy directions to the church facilities.

"What can I wear if I attend your worship service?"

Casual dress is accepted at Fulton First United Methodist church.  Many of our members do not dress up in "suits."

"Will I be 'pointed out' as a visitor if I come to the church for worship?"

No, you will not be announced as a visitor to the church, but you will be welcomed at the door and given any assistance you require.  We will not single out individuals or families who come and worship with us.  We do welcome everyone and understand each person has reasons for coming.  We will respect your privacy as much as you want us to.

"Is there a nursery for my young children?"

Yes.  Nursery is provided at all church activities.

"Is your Communion Service only for United Methodists?"

No.  Our Communion is open to everyone.  We serve Communion on the first Sunday each month during Worship.  Our lay pastors ministry team can also serve persons in our community who cannot get to the church for the service.

"If I am not a church member, can I attend Sunday School and other group activities?"

Yes.  All are welcome to learn more about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  You do not have to be a member to experience God's love in any group we have that fits you.

"Do I have to be a church member to sing in your choir?"

No.  The choir practices on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.. You do not need to read music.  Our choir director Shannon is very good and produces beautiful music full of Spirit. Musicians are welcome to practice the Praise Band on Tuesday's at 6:30 p.m. and play during worship as they feel comfortable.

"What groups can use your facilities?"

Sunday School classes and groups related to church activities use the facilities without charge.  Other organizations wanting to use the facilities must be accepted and scheduled through the Church Office.  These groups will be asked for a $25 donation (excludes use of the kitchen and Willingham Center).  We ask for a $35 donation for kitchen use, and if used to prepare meals for which tickets are sold we ask for $50. Custodial fee of $25 applies to all groups unless exempt by Church Office.  Activities lasting all day, a $100 donation applies. The Willingham Center may be rented for birthday parties or other group activities for a nominal fee, contact the Center at 270-472-3510 for information.  Please check with the Church Office, 270-472-3514, for a copy of "Guidelines for Organizations" for detailed requirements.

"Can I have my wedding in your church if I am not a member?"

Yes.  There is no charge for use of the Sanctuary when the bride and/or groom or their immediate family are members of our own congregation.  For non-members, please contact the Church Office, 270-472-3514, for a copy of "Wedding Policies" for complete details on fees and services available..
